Friday, March 9 | Emerald City – Triggered by a conversation between playwright SP Miskowski and director Meghan Arnette about the changing cultural identity of Seattle, Emerald City is a haunting love note/ break up letter to the city. Miskowski artfully connects the past and the present as she weaves together history and a personal tale of longing, urban identity and change. A writer is forced to return to Seattle, site of her personal and professional ruin, to cover the story of Dorothy Dietrich. Crashing with a college roommate and proprietor of an earnest yet doomed tour business, and surreptitiously followed by a lover whose interest may be swayed by a surprising suitor, her life is once again changed by a trip she didn’t want to take to a city she hoped never to see again.

Saturday, March 10 | Draw Attack! Costume Session with Brew and Live Music – Georgetown Atelier hosts its first monthly costume figure drawing session, featuring live baroque opera by Jordan Corbin of Watershed Opera and delicious brew from Georgetown Brewing Co! Enjoy the ambience of a working classical art school, which offers participants use of easels, work lamps and controlled lighting. The school is an active part of the Georgetown Art Attack art walk, allowing visitors to respectively witness the drawing session in action. Chinese Mortal Warrior P. On the eve of his funeral, she must come to grips with her own future thanks to her father’s genes: both her gift for math and her own potential mental fragility. This realistic, engaging four-person show looks at the human condition in solitude, mental illness, and relationships.

Friday, February 24 | BENEFICIAL BASS – Mike O’Leary suffers from Ankylosing Spondylitis, a chronic inflammatory disease of the spinal joints. About a year ago the Bassdrop Music team met Blair Boykin, a supporter of Bassdrop Music events. She’s also been booked many of times to entertain their crowds. Bassdrop recently learned about her boyfriends saddening disease and instantly felt they could offer help. Mike has been diagnosed for 5 years and now needs assistance paying medical bills and other living expenses. Featuring sounds from JPOD THE BEAT CHEF, KAT1LYST, GHOSTPLAY JONES and more!

TONIGHT, February 21 | Good-Night Moon! A benefit for the Radar LAB – A Bernal Heights cocktail party fundraiser! Celebrate the last new moon of the lunar year with an enchanting evening of food, wine, tarot and your special Witch of Honor, Justin Vivian Bond, all to benefit the 4th Annual Radar LAB artists’ retreat! With a home-made feast culled from the recipes of El Bulli‘s  “The Family Meal” by the world’s most famous chef Ferran Adria; intoxicating wines donated from The Lexington Club, illuminating tarot readings from Marcus Ewert, and the magical presence of Justin Vivian Bond. 100% of the proceeds go to fund the LAB. The LAB artists retreat relies 100% on funding from special benefits such as these.

Wednesday, February 22 | Counter Attack! – Stagebridge presents the world premiere of Counter Attack!, an original play by Joan Holden. Loosely based on Candacy Taylor‘s book Counter Culture, Holden deftly shatters stereotypes of aging workers, tapping into personal stories to deconstruct complex politics. Best of all, this original Stagebridge production reunites Holden with director Sharon Lockwood and actress Joan Mankin, two esteemed artists who helped Holden forge the New Left movement of the SF Mime Troup. Thursday, October 20 | Sugar Skull Making Workshop: 18 Reasons lives in the Mission and Dia de los Muertos is a huge holiday here. Within the traditions of the day, sugar skulls play a meaningful role, representing deceased loved ones who living celebrants want to honor. Learn how to make your own sugar skulls at this hands-on workshop with Michele from the Sugar Skull Gallery. After she walks you through the making and decorating processes, each participant will decorate two sugar skulls using all kinds of traditional and not-so traditional materials which are all included.

Friday, October 21 | La Boutique Obscure: Pajama Party Edition!: The Third Friday of each month, there will be an all-new La Boutique Obscure, with new acts and special guests! Live music, puppetry, and impossible nonsense abound.
