Friday, December 2 2011 Winter Beer Festival –  The Washington Beer Commission’s Winter Beer Festival will showcase a variety of winter seasonals from over 30 Washington breweries. This year’s beer lineup will include dark malty stouts, robust winter warmers, barrel-aged gems and many more. Other features include beer and chocolate pairings, fine pub cuisine by Hale’s and a holiday gift shop.

Saturday, December 3 New Balance Girls on the Run 5K – Join us at the New Balance Girls on the Run 5K, presented by QFC! This is the graduation race for our Fall program participants, and is open to the community. Women, men, children, leashed pets and all-terrain strollers welcome! Our theme is ‘Super Heroes’ so grab your cape or super hero costume and join us on 5K day to show your support for Girls on the Run. TONIGHT!Drunk Puppet Nite: A cluster of Seattle area puppeteers  working to expand the public’s definition of puppetry by bringing a blend of the surprising, the bizarre, and the artistically excellent, to audiences around the Puget Sound area. More shows tomorrow and Saturday, plus next weekend!

Friday, November 4 | Rocky Horror Show presented by The Schoolyard: Rocky is back! Sold out at Open Circle Theater last spring, The Schoolyard presents a remount of the raunchy, wicked rendering of Richard O’Brien’s modern classic, The Rocky Horror Show, returning to excite even more of you time-warping Transylvanians. TONIGHT! An Evening with Vince Mira! Born in Los Angeles and raised in San Antonio Texas, artist Vince Mira’s rise to fame has captivated America. Discovered while playing for tips in Seattle’s Pike Place Market, his rapid rise to prominence led to a debut EP and a 2nd full-length album produced by John Carter Cash. Both recorded at the Cash Cabin and followed by a veritable media frenzy. The young baritone with the big voice has been featured on “Good Morning America”, “The Ellen Degeneres Show” and “Inside Edition” and has played the Austin City Limits Festival, Bumbershoot, the mainstage at the Sasquatch Festival and has showcased at SXSW. He is now in the process of writing and recording his 3rd album

TONIGHT! Team Up’s Gigs4Good w/ Handful of Luvin, Jubilee & The Local Strangers for PAWS Come and experience a fun night of music for a cause with three of Seattle’s most entertaining bands. Fiddle-driven Roots/Rock band Handful of Luvin’ will be supported by non-profit band Jubilee and emerging new talent The Local Strangers to benefit the PAWS Injured and Orphaned Wildlife Rehab Program at one of Seattle’s legendary live music venues, the Tractor Tavern in Ballard. BPT’s Guide to Summer Beer & Wine Events!

These days, almost every city across America has their own local microbrewery or winery. This wasn’t the case ten or fifteen years ago but now, locally brewed beers and locally sourced wines can be found in pretty much every state of the union. This is indicative of the growing national trend to improve what we eat and drink. For too long Americans have been drinking generic mass-produced beer and wine and finally, we’re starting to expect more from what we eat and drink.
