Thursday, March 1 | MERCHANTS – Long-running San Francisco indy theater troupe, No Nude Men Productions, brings you the debut work of exciting new playwright Susan Sobeloff. “Merchants” tells the story of a performance artist (Maura Halloran) and her finance consultant sister (Ariane Owens), two young women trying to find the modern Holy Grails of financial stability and career satisfaction. As the economy collapses around them and the middle class begins to drown, Lilah finds herself unemployed and pregnant while Mercedes is suddenly the center of a quickly growing business venture that soon proves to be as unsustainable as it is lucrative. Also staring Tony Cirimele and Trish Tillman, this intimate, intense show is the perfect storm of the problems facing so many Americans today and asks the questions we all need to be asking about what it will take to keep our heads above water.

Bring a thriller, eat great food, drink free-flowing wine, leave with swag, meet local authors, make new friends.
Saturday, March 3 | Scary Cow Independent Film Festival! – Scary Cow is a collective of professional and amateur filmmakers hellbent on changing how films are seen and made. Their films are of a wide range of quality and aesthetics, and a lot of fun to both make and watch! Every four months, the co-op watches the film they created together on the big screen. At their 16th annual festival, the audience will be asked to vote for the best films and those films with the most votes will receive budgets for their future projects! Following the screening there will be an After Party where they’ll be toasting the filmmakers, mingling, and talking about their next projects, with the major winners announced at the party!
Sunday, March 4 | Colors from Nature: Getting Started with Natural Dyes – Learn how to make brilliant colors from your local environment with natural dyer and plants-person DEEPA NATARAJAN of the PERMACOUTURE INSTITUTE. In this three-hour workshop you will learn the basic principles of natural dyes, mordanting, medicinal dyes, making patterns on cloth and flower printing. We’ll also be taking a neighborhood walk to identify some common and unexpected dye plants. You will get to take home samples in a range of colors and fibers. No experience necessary. $20- $30 sliding scale includes all materials.
