Thursday, February 3 to Tuesday, February 14 I Unlucky in Love Unlucky in Love tells the story of a hapless writer examining episodes from his own life as he tries to pen a self-help guide to romance. Unfortunately for him (but fortunately for the audience), what he doesn’t know could fill a book. Calamities of the heart have never been so funny or sexy as they are in this burlesque story of love and misfortune. It’s two hours of teasing, pleasing, romance, and magic all accompanied by the excitement of live music, courtesy of The Unluckiest Band in The World. This Valentines season give your special honey more than a box of chocolate. A performance by New England’s leading burlesque troupe is a saucy gift of love. The line-up includes both veterans of the established troupe and some new members. Regular attendees of Boston Babydolls shows are familiar with Miss Mina, the ‘classy lassie with the sassy chassis’, and Betty Blaize, the six foot tall glamorous Amazon who combines burlesque traditions with showgirl aesthetics. Newer members include the classically-trained Devora Darling, the energetic Evie Sphinx, and the newest member of the troupe, the curvaceous Brigitte Bisoux. Each Boston Babydolls is her own special flavor of sassy sweetness on stage.

Monday, February 6 I Beyond the Myth at Northeastern School of Law “Beyond the Myth” is a film about dog breeds commonly referred to as”pit bulls” and those who love these breeds. Viewers are taken on a journey to four U.S. cities where Breed Specific Legislation focusing on “pit bulls” has profoundly impacted people and animals: Denver, Miami, Cincinnati, and San Francisco. The documentary intelligently explores the contributing factors behind the public’s generalized fear of “pit bulls”, and examines the conflict existing between advocates and opponents of breed discriminatory laws, commonly referred to as breed bans. It investigates the myths associated with these breeds, challenges the idea that they are inherently vicious, presents eye-opening
research regarding the media’s role in influencing people’s opinion on dog attacks.
Tuesday, February 7 I The Gibson/Antonellis Comedy Hour – a new show by 2 members of All The Kings Men For years people have been hounding Julee Antonellis (ATKM, Women In Comedy Festival, (N)everclear) for more solo work, including her brilliant stand-up comedy and sketches. For nearly as long, people have been telling Jill “Petey” Gibson (ATKM, The Mary Dolan Show, Bent Wit Cabaret) she should really do a show with Julee, who is “hysterical” and “better looking than you”. If you can’t listen to people, who can you listen to? Plants? That’s for people on drugs. Drugs! So… here it is! Finally! A stand-up, sketch, musical show featuring Julee and Petey, in a night of pure comedy gold. After 6 years as collaborators on various projects, these two comedians bring their best work to the grand well-lit stage of the basement of the Lizard Lounge. Petey leaves Boston for Los Angeles to train with The Groundlings this summer, and Julee will probably be rocketing to fame and glory directly after this production so… you really don’t want to miss it. It will be special.
