TONIGHT! Wendesday, December 14 I $5 Holiday Improv Chemically Imbalanced Comedy is excited to announce “Meow Meow Crushes Christmas,” featuring the CIC house team Meow Meow Ruff.  Each week they will be joined by college improv ensembles to perform an interactive night of holiday-themed comedy, based on audience suggestions. Does the recession have you down?  Occupy CIC!  For the price of a latte and half of a muffin (not even a whole muffin, unless it’s a day old), you and your friends will be entertained by rotating casts of Chicago comedians in this budget-friendly and BYO show.  Soak up some holiday spirit with a guaranteed unique experience each time you see it.  Did we mention it’s BYOB?  $5 = fun.

Thursday, December 15 I Venom Strikes Chicago!  Be one of the first in Chicago to witness an awe-inspiring pool trick shot performance by Florian “Venom” Kohler in an intimate setting atop the The Willis Tower in the prestigious Metropolitan Club. Creator of more than 1000 new trick shots and winner of the 2011 Juanjo Trilles Artistic Cup in Spain! Ticket price includes one hour open bar and hors d’oeuvres from 7pm-8pm. Meet Venom after the performance! This is an 18 and over event.

Friday, December 16 an Saturday, December 17 I Coquito, Rumpope, and Eggnog! (or How I REALLY Survived the Holidays)  A staged reading of an original Holiday performance featuring writer/performers from the neighborhood of Logan Square and Avondale. The stories seek to find universality in the struggle in seeking the “perfect” Holiday celebration and the wonder, frustration and stress that occur with that kind of pressure. This show seeks answers to the question of why we work SO hard to make the holidays so SO very VERY special.

Saturday, December 17 I Family Class: Holiday Cookie Bake – Now We’re Cookin’  Set aside time with the whole family to enjoy the traditional holiday pastime of baking cookies. It’s a tradition that busy families find hard to fit in so Now We’re Cookin’ is scheduling the time for you! Bring everyone and spread out in Now We’re Cookin’s kitchen to bake up a storm. They’ll introduce you to some their chef’s favorites including a fun jigsaw puzzle cookie. Come roll the dough and stock the cookie jar for Santa. Menu includes Ginger Cookies, Cookie Jigsaw Puzzle and Candycane “Oreos.”

Sunday, December 18 and Monday, December 19 I Santa Claus vs. The Easter Bunny  Strangeloop’s Holiday Cabaret series is back for a 4th fun-filled installment of seasonal music and mirth. The nefarious Easter Bunny has had enough of playing second fiddle to Santa Claus and Christmas. This year, he’s finally going to take out the jolly old elf… by any means necessary! Can Santa and his forces of good overcome greed and commercialism to prevail against Peter Cottontail and his evil woodland army in time to save Christmas? Join Strangeloop Theatre for all-new irreverent holiday zaniness and musical mayhem – as only they can do! Featuring Julia Beck, Maria Burnham, Melanie Camras, Letitia Guillaud, Jaclyn Jensen, Darrin Luginski, Sam Nellis, Holly Robison and Dustin Spence. Musical direction by Roy Andrew Freeman. So come out to Mary’s Attic (located above Andersonville’s popular Hamburger Mary’s) for some fun, some drink and lots of holiday cheer!
