Tomorrow, September 14 Chocolate & Beer Tasting with Christopher Elbow New Fall flavors & more: Chocolate AND beer! Christopher Elbow has quickly established a reputation as one of the premier American chocolatiers. Join Chris as he leads you through a tasting of his new Fall flavors such as Black Currant, Mango Ginger, Port Wine Fig and Whiskey Walnut. And just when you think Chris has expanded your palate enough, he’ll lead you through some of his favorite beer and chocolate pairings, from a German Bock to a Kansas City craft brewed Ale.

Tomorrow, September 14 Vital Signs: Gross, shocking, hilarious, absurd and heart-warming, Alison Whittaker, a Registered Nurse at a major urban hospital, takes you behind the scenes of our current health care system for an intimate look at the nurses, patients and their families coping with blood-and-guts real life in the hospital. From diaper changes and catheters to despair, hope and humanity, this is a glimpse of real-life in the hospital as you’ve never seen it before.

Thursday, September 15 36th Annual San Francisco Standup Comedy Competition: The San Francisco International Comedy Competition is one of America’s longest-running and most prestigious comedy contests. 30 comedians will perform at a large variety of venues all around the Bay Area as they attempt to move past the preliminary rounds into the semi-finals and into the winner’s circle, featuring one of the largest cash prizes of any comedy competition in the nation. Previous contestants have included Robin Williams, Ellen Degeneres, Dane Cook, Dana Carvey, Patton Oswalt, Kevin Pollack, Louis CK and many more.

Thursday, September 15 (and all weekend!) Something Else: A Fluxus Semicentenary: Other Minds presents a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Fluxus. The three-day series includes performances by Alison Knowles, film screenings, a special exhibition curated by Other Minds, a radio tribute, and new realizations of groundbreaking Fluxus works by Knowles, La Monte Young, Yoko Ono and George Brecht.

Opening Friday, September 16 The 2011 San Francisco Latino Film Festival: This festival, presented by Cine+Mas, showcases new work by filmmakers from Latin America, Spain, and the US. Expect screenings, opportunities to meet filmmakers, and great parties!
