Every Friday at noon, EST, Brown Paper Tickets will post upcoming events happening in the New York area. Here are hot tickets for events coming up. Check back for stellar events that fit the interests of locals and tourists alike.

Friday, June 17 The Shell Theater hosts two forgotten modernist plays: Ionesco’s “The Future is in Eggs” & Pirandello’s “Sicilian Limes.” The production runs through June 26.

Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18 The Center for Performance Research presents “dancing funny and other sad tales,” their curated dance performance, featuring work by seven New York-based dance artists.

Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18 Entropy. Redress. is a collaborative piece of performance art. One live artist, with more than 40 digital contributions from as many collaborators, performs the experience of an identity, a journey, and an expectation.

Saturday, June 18 All-American Open Karate Chamionships is a day of full-contact martial arts action.

Wednesday, June 22 Short Stories is an annual short play festival that celebrates the gay experience. The festival runs through June 26.

Thursday, June 23 BENT Festival celebrates circuit bending and its related creative practices: DIY electronics, hardware hacking, glitch, software art, abstract video. The festival goes all weekend long.
